The new 2015 Kia Sedona has to be the best looking minivan ever made(that's available in North America). It has this certain manliness to it that I would drive one without shame. Even in Base form(pictured here) it is surprisingly handsome for a van. Take this and slap on some nice 20" wheels on it and maybe lower it just a tad and you would have one killer KDM VIP vehicle. Take out the centre seat and leave the rear seat only for ultimate leg room. If you need to haul some plywood home just stow the backseat down and enjoy all the utility.

the back looks a bit Sequoia-ish. But yeah a very nice looking van. I would go for a transit connect LWB. It looks more plucky than the sedona

I don't like the transit Connect for some reason but the Full Size Transit on the other hand I would rock in a heartbeat.

My first car was a 2006 Sedona. Two things were entertaining about it:

Kinja'd!!!

1. The gas pedal was more like an on/off switch, the v6 sounded so angry my friends found it entertaining.

2. The steering was dead heavy, to the point where I was wondering if the car had power steering. It was like you were turning the steering wheel and someone was pulling it in the opposite direction so you had to apply tons of force.

I can't believe it's taken car makers this long to figure out how to make an acceptable looking minivan.

It's wrong in the same way the Honda Odyssey is wrong. It was made for dudes who don't want to look like a twat driving a mini van. Still a mini van though.

According to Kia it's a Multi Purpose Vehicle but I'm with you no matter what it's still a van but the difference between this and the other is that it's a van I would drive.

The japanese know how to make a good looking unit the only problem is they do not bring the good looking ones here.

Now I'm looking at the Grand Caravan and cringe because it doesn't even slightly compare in terms of style. Dodge is gonna have to up their game big time.

Even the interior of the Kia is awesome you get a full centre console with the shifter on the console rather that the stupid looking dash mounted shifter. While your driving if you don't look in the mirrors you would think your driving a nice car/suv.

Any examples of good looking JDM minivans? Most of the ones I see look either just as soft and flabby as the american ones.

The Alphard (by Toyota) makes an appealing case. Not the greatest looking on the outside but THAT INTERIOR!

I know this is over a month late, but your recent post on stanced Kia's prompted me perusing your post on Kia Sedona mini-vans. I agree that the exterior styling of the new Kia is very good, probably the best out there at the moment. However, there is a fundamental flaw in placing the gear level in the center console, in that it makes it very difficult/impossible for the passenger, or the driver when the van is parked, to get back to the rear of the van. The Dodge has that center piece as well, but I believe it is removable. The ability of crawling back to the rear passengers is essential when you have little kids. That's why all other manufacturers place the gear level on the column or the dash now. Other than that, its' a fine looking van, and I'll be looking at one up at the Detroit Auto Show next week.
